The Power of Echo
If you look to the right, you’ll see that I decided to put up a beautiful higer desert picture instead of another human face. The rock wall in the background is actually a natural amphitheater in norhtern New Mexico called “Echo Amphitheater”. It’s huge. When you go inside and speak, sing or just yell, your voice bounces off the walls above and around you and gain amazing power. A very small voice becomes much more in the echo. It strikes me that the communities like Voxtropolis are like that. Small voices are empowered by the environment around them. Isn’t that what many of us are looking for? We want to be heard…felt…known. Building communities that enlarge voices is a pretty good way to invest our lives. My city is full of people with much to say. I want to give them a voice - and build the echo. There is much to be learned here in the higher desert.
